Bastrop New Hope Respite
Bastrop FUMC is partnering with the Alzheimer?s Association, Capital of Texas, Austin, to provide respite care to caregivers of patients with dementia, and Alzheimer?s related diseases. We are kicking off our program, Bastrop New Hope Respite, on Thursday, September 25th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall, 1201 Main Street, Bastrop, TX, and will run every Thursday, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be plenty of activities, crafts, games, sing-a-longs, exercise, and a healthy home cooked lunch, with guest appearances from the Bastrop Community. Not only will the caregiver benefit from time away, the participant will also be able to interact with others in fun activities. As a bonus, the program is entirely free, it is operated by trained volunteers, and funded through community donations. For more information about the program, please call Brenda Zimmerman, Director at (512) 581-2691, or Kathy Crosby, RN, Wesley Nurse at (512) 332-2752
