Sip, shop and swirl your way through historic downtown Bastrop at the sixth Annual Lost Pines Christmas Wine Swirl on Saturday, December 16th, from 6 to 9 p.m. “We hope this year’s event is going to be the biggest and best yet,” said Main Street Program Director Sarah O’Brien. “we have ramped up our efforts to include more community input, and to make this a curated wine and food event.” Swirl raises funds for downtown beautification and promotion efforts, and organizers are pulling out all the stops for this year’s event. A new day and time and the curation of our food and wine participants are sure to make this year’s event one for the record books.

The ticketed wine and food pairing event showcases Texas wineries and local restaurants, inside the doors of our wonderful & unique downtown merchants.  Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy wine samples from 10 hand selected Texas wineries and taste delicious hors’ devourers from many Bastrop restaurants. The event also gives attendees the opportunity to enjoy live music, utilize special promotions from downtown retailers, and sample the delicious food pairings from our local restaurants.
Wine Swirl ticket prices will remain the same and are $40 and include a souvenir Swirl glass, tasting plate, event lanyard, and a souvenir shopping bag. “We are giving all of our attendees a huge bang for their buck this year,” said O’Brien. This year’s event is limited to 350 attendees, down from 450 in 2016. “We want to give the best event experience possible, and ensure that all of our attendees have a night to remember,” said O’Brien Tickets will be available online and locally beginning in October.   Ticket holders must check in the evening of the event and present their ID and receive their official Swirl swag.

To bring this exciting event to downtown Bastrop event organizers are currently looking for sponsors. Opportunities include logo inclusion on the wine glass, lanyard imprints and more. “Swirl is a fundraising event for the Main Street Program that allows us to expand our downtown beautification and promotion efforts.  We hope local community organizations will help us continue our efforts to enhance the downtown Bastrop experience for locals and visitors,” said O’Brien.
