Bastrop, Texas, September 12, 2017– The Rotary Club of Bastrop County announced the theme for their annual fundraiser, Men Who Cook, and it promises to be a great event. The theme - a Mad Hatter’s Ball, with the date set for November 18, 2017. The event features twenty or more chef teams who prepare and serve their best dish; each offering is delicious and unique. With so many cooks, you are bound to find something you love. In past events, the courses have featured everything from Mesquite Smoked Wild Hog to Bacon Torte & Apple Brandy Cheesecake. Each Chef Team brings their own flair and flavor to the event, hoping to win the coveted “Best Chef” award at the end of the evening.

“We are so excited about Men Who Cook and the theme this year. The funds raised at this event allow our club to do our part to make a difference in the world, both locally and world-wide,” said Lauri Anzaldua, Bastrop County Rotary Club President.

A Mad Hatter’s Ball will be held at the Bastrop Convention Center, 1408 Chestnut Street, Bastrop, TX on Saturday, November 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30 p.m. In addition to the Chefs offerings, there will be dancing and music provided by WCI Entertainment, an open bar, silent and live auctions and a performance by the Bastrop County Honor Choir. “I can’t tell you some of the great things we will be serving this year, but I can tell you that you are going to enjoy it!,” said Leo Gaertner, Bastrop County Rotarian.
