Bastrop Chamber of Commerce Rolls Out Tiered Dues Investment Schedule

Bastrop, Texas – The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a new Tiered Dues Investment Schedule rolling out January 1, 2020. This comprehensive overhaul has been in the works since mid-2018.

“We are excited to offer a Tiered Dues Investment structure based on the Benefits important to our membership and not a Fair Share based on the number of employees,” said Becki Womble, Bastrop Chamber President and CEO. “Previously, every member received exactly the same benefits no matter their investment amount and we kept up with the number of company employees to determine that level. Now a business has the opportunity to decide their level of investment based on their desired level of benefits. Several investment levels include Sponsorship Credits to be used towards events and sponsorship opportunities throughout the year.”

Cathi Hight with Hight Performance Group was contracted in 2018 to help facilitate the transition from a traditional “Fair Share” model that has been used for decades to the current trend of “Tiered Dues Investments.” A task force of Chamber members was then assembled for a complete and comprehensive review of benefits currently being offered, and to discuss new ones that could be offered. It was found some members want to connect with others in their industry, some want to network with potential clients or have access to member pricing, others find it important to get marketing exposure, or to access community leaders, and another group wants to give back because it is engrained in their DNA as a civic duty.  Regardless, every member should feel they are getting value commensurate with their level of investment.

2019 Board Chair Kevin Plunkett said, “The Chamber is continually working to keep up with current industry trends, and building a stronger business community. This is another example of how the Bastrop Chamber keeps working to provide more value and meet the needs of our members.”
