Bastrop Chamber of Commerce Selects Board Member Evan Moilan as 2022 Chair Elect

Bastrop, TX (May 25, 2022) - The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected Evan Moilan as the 2022 Chair Elect at their Board meeting on May 18, 2022. Moilan is the owner of Evan Moilan Consulting, based in Bastrop, Texas. He will fill the position on the Executive Committee vacated by Stephen Heleman, who previously served as the 2022 Chair Elect. Mr. Heleman resigned from the Chamber Board to take a Lead Pastor position at a church in Salem, Oregon.

“I am thrilled to have a business leader with non-profit experience serving on the Executive Committee,” said Becki Womble, Bastrop Chamber President and CEO. “He will make an excellent Chairman of the Board in 2023.   After witnessing first-hand Evan’s capabilities in leading the ‘Support Our BISD Kids PAC’ during the last school bond, I look forward to working with him more closely.  He brings a unique perspective to the Chamber Board as we continue moving forward in this season of rapid growth in central Texas.”

Moilan has an extensive history of working with non-profits seeking organizational change, including strategic planning, fundraising, re-branding, and marketing campaigns. His wife, Heather, is a teacher at Mina Elementary School. They have been married 22 years and together have two children: a daughter Sydney, a junior at Bastrop High, and son Austin, an 8th grader at Bastrop Middle School.  Moilan recently served as Treasurer for Support Our BISD Kids PAC, which assisted in the May 1, 2021, approval of bonds for Bastrop Independent School District to fund two new elementary campuses as well as improvements at every campus across the district.

“This is a significant time in the history of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce as we navigate a post pandemic economy and begin planning for our Centennial Celebration in 2022. I am deeply grateful to the Board of Directors for their vision, dedication, and passion for the Chamber and our community. I look forward to working with the rest of the Board toward fulfilling our mission and implementing our strategic plan on behalf of the business leaders in Bastrop County” said Moilan.
