Governor Abbott Proclaims Texas Chamber of Commerce Week

Bastrop, Texas (October 17, 2022) – Governor Greg Abbott has officially proclaimed October 17 through October 21, 2022 as “Chamber of Commerce Week” in Texas. Signing an official resolution, Governor Abbott celebrated the more than 600 local chambers of commerce in Texas who “provide a critical link in the communities they serve by fostering a vibrant business environment, promoting local projects, and paving the way for small businesses to thrive.”

During this week, all citizens of Bastrop, Texas should pause and reflect on the many contributions made to our community through the efforts of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce. As stated by Governor Abbott, “their work leads to stronger people, better communities, and a prosperous state we are proud to call home. The Chamber of Commerce improves your community by creating jobs, developing future leaders, improving education, campaigning for improved streets and highways, and stimulating industrial, commercial, and agricultural growth.”

This year alone, the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce has hosted local and regional events, economic development updates, provided assistance to businesses considering locating in the community, and dealt with numerous workforce related issues. Most recently, the Chamber updated its website to promote our members, hosted educational and tourism events, as well as developed their 2023 Public Policy Guide, all intended to benefit our community.

The Chamber will host an Open House on Wednesday, October 19, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.  Members of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce and surrounding communities are invited to take a moment to celebrate and thank the staff and volunteers for their work and dedication.

The mission of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce is to improve business prosperity, and thereby the quality of life for Bastrop County through leadership, advocacy, and collaboration. The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce is located at 927 Main St. in the heart of downtown Bastrop and is open from 8am to 4pm Monday-Friday.
