BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Bastrop County Cares (BCC) is seeking a compassionate, creative, and
community-focused Parent & Family Engagement Coordinator to lead early childhood engagement efforts that
strengthen the bond between caregivers and children ages 0–5. This role will be responsible for developing and
facilitating family literacy programs, designing and delivering age-appropriate curriculum and workshops for children
and caregivers, and building strong partnerships with schools, libraries, and other local stakeholders. The Coordinator
will play a key role in promoting early literacy, school readiness, and community connection for families across Bastrop
County.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
●Design and implement culturally relevant family literacy programs focused on children ages 0–5 and their caregivers.
●Develop curriculum and workshop materials that promote early learning, literacy, social-emotional development, and
caregiver-child interaction.
●Facilitate engaging and interactive workshops, storytimes, and family events that foster learning through play and
exploration.
●Build and maintain relationships with school districts, libraries, early childhood centers, and other community
organizations.
●Collaborate with partners to co-host programs, coordinate outreach, and align early childhood efforts across the
county.
●Represent BCC at community meetings, early childhood coalitions, and public events.
●Provide welcoming, inclusive, and strengths-based support to families from diverse backgrounds.
●Identify and address barriers to participation by offering flexible programming and support services.
●Engage families in leadership opportunities and co-design of programs when possible.
●Schedule and promote events in collaboration with the BCC team and partners.
●Collect attendance data, feedback, and outcome measures to support continuous improvement.
●Maintain accurate records of program participation, supplies, and materials.
Qualifications:
●Associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, social work, family studies, or a related field preferred.
●2+ years of experience working directly with families and/or children ages 0–5.
●Experience developing and facilitating educational programming or workshops.
●Strong understanding of early childhood development, family dynamics, and community engagement.
●Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
●Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
●Able to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
●Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Working Conditions:
●Work is performed in a variety of settings including schools, libraries, parks, and community centers.
●Frequent local travel throughout Bastrop County.
●Occasional lifting of educational materials and event supplies (up to 25 lbs).
●Some programming will occur outdoors or in informal environments.
●Regular evening and weekend events may be required.
