Hello, I am Dr. Joseph Torres and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and National Certified Counselor. I provide online therapy for adults, couples, and families across Texas and Psycholeducation Consultation tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I hold a PhD in Psychology from UT San Antonio and a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. As a U.S. Veteran, I’m proud to serve my community. Joseph A. Torres Counseling provides evidence-based virtual therapy (telehealth) and organizational consultation. I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with existential, narrative, and person-centered approaches. Together, we will figure out what's driving your concerns, look at the patterns keeping you stuck (including the ones that used to work), and build skills you can use in real life, not just in session.
Therapy with me is straightforward, collaborative, and practical. Clients leave sessions with tools they can use in everyday life. Areas of focus include depression, anxiety, life transitions, stress, grief, trauma and PTSD, anger management, and men’s issues. I have a special commitment to veterans and first responders but I work with everyone in need of mental healthcare. Sessions are offered through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, with a free consultation to start. Military and first responder discounts, as well as limited sliding-scale options are also available.
Organizational consulting with me is direct, cooperative, and actionable. Organizations leave with research-backed strategies they can use in daily operations. Areas of focus include team dynamics, leadership, communication, engagement, burnout, change management, and conflict resolution. I work with any team seeking measurable improvement. Engagements are offered remotely or on-site, with a free initial consultation to start. Nonprofit and public-service discounts, as well as limited reduced-rate options are also available.
