Bastrop County Day at the Capitol

FREE EVENT, but registration is required.

The Chamber’s mission and goals cannot be accomplished without maintaining strong and effective relationships with elected officials. This day is organized so that together as a county we can meet with state official to discuss legislation that could affect our businesses and communities.

8:30 - Arrival & Security

Parking is available at the Capitol Visitor's Garage, 1201 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX
It's an easy walk to the North side of the building to enter.

9:00 - 9:30 - Senator Schwertner & Representative Gerdes provide a legislative update and host a Q&A session
9:30 - Group Photo
9:35 - Travel to House Gallery to be seated
10:00 - 10:50 - View House Floor Proceedings. Representative Gerdes will welcome and recognize Bastrop County.
11:00 - Meet in the Historic Supreme Courtroom - Room #: 3N.3
11:00-11:20 - Brice Corkill, Project Development Coordinator for Economic Development & Tourism
11:20-11:40am - Texas Film Commission
11:40am-12:00pm: Scott Joslove, President/CEO of the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA)
12:00 - 1:30 - Lunch provided by Southside Market on the lawn for registered attendees only otherwise on your own
1:30 - Arrival & Security (if off campus or outside for lunch)
1:45 - Meet at start of tour of Capitol
2:00-2:45 - Capitol Tour(s) - Split into groups of 20-30
2:45 - Dismiss
3:00 - 5:00 - Texas Association of Business (TAB) reception, 316 W 12th St #200
5:00 - Depart for Bastrop
