Jayson May to speak on care-free native landscapes and pollinators
Jayson May is the resource Specialist for Bastrop and Buescher State Parks. He has been working in the restoration trade for 20 years, and is a huge advocate of using native plants in the landscape. He is currently in the process of removing all the exotic vegetation from his own yard to make it a native paradise for pollinators, birds and other wildlife.
He will be sharing with us some of the do's and don'ts of how everyone can make there own place a more friendly spot for native pollinators and how to have a care free native landscape.
His work at the parks also involve him in prescribed burns, trail maintenance and upgrades, and reclamation of park land back to native grasses, wildflowers and forbs. He also trains park personnel in this region on chainsaw use. Jayson previously worked for The Native American Seed Company in Junction, Texas.
