Veterans and their families could be eligible for a wide variety of federal, state and county benefits, but knowing what?s available, determining eligibility, completing the application forms and gathering supporting documentation can be a daunting task. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Texas Veterans Commission and Bastrop County Veterans Service Office will be on hand to assist veterans and their families in applying for various benefits. The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System will have representatives on hand to help with VA Health Care enrollment and discuss minority veteran affairs. Austin Vet Center counselors will be on hand to discuss services available for combat veterans and their families. Texas Veterans Land Board and other veterans? service agencies and organizations will also be on hand to discuss benefits, employment opportunities, loans and other veterans? issues. Bastrop Bar Association lawyers will be available for legal consultation. This is a great opportunity to come to one location and learn about veteran health care, employment, compensation, pension, education, survivors? benefits, home and land loans, life insurance, burial honors and many other potential benefits that are available.
