Bastrop Food Pantry EMPTY BOWL PROJECT
Savor one of Bastrop’s most anticipated events: the 15th annual Bastrop County EMPTY BOWL Project. Tickets are $20 per person for your choice of a pottery soup bowl decorated by local school-age artists. Sample delicious soup, stew or chili prepared by leading restaurants and caterers throughout the area and enjoy family favorite cookies prepared by local bakers. Children 12 and under eat free. In addition to showcasing the culinary talents of local restaurants and caterers, the event helps the Pantry bridge the gap between the basic nutritional needs of many county residents—young, old, individuals, families—and their ability to address these needs on their own. Empty Bowl proceeds, grants and donations also empower the Pantry’s efforts to inform, counsel and lift the thousands among us—one out of every seven Bastrop County residents—who are living in poverty or experiencing food emergency.
