Smart Growth for the 21st Century

The Bastrop County Board of REALTORS®, in partnership with the Bastrop Economic Development Corporation, is excited to bring the National Association of REALTORS® “Smart Growth for the 21st Century” class to Bastrop. This
course focuses on how radical changes in consumer preferences are changing the nature of real estate development andeconomic development strategies for communities.

John Rosshirt, 2014 Chair, NAR Smart Growth Advisory Board, will explain why those changes are taking place, how theyare tied to smart growth principles, and how to leverage them for the benet of the local community and their business.

You will learn what factors favor smart growth, economic and environmental factors to consider, the 10 Principles of Smart Growth, and how to create value and suit the needs of dierent communities eectively. You will leave with an array of ways to become involved, to be an advocate for more livable communities, and to communicate more productively about smart growth.
