“21 Years, Countless Bowls, Endless Impact.” Re: Help us spread the word about the 21st Annual Bastrop Empty Bowl The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry invites the community to join us for our 21st Annual Bastrop Empty Bowl, a SOUPer Bowl–themed celebration of food and fighting hunger. Date: Saturday, January 24 Time: 11:30 am – 2:00 pm (General Admission) Early Admission for Sponsors: 11:00 am Location: Bastrop Convention Center Come dressed in your favorite football jersey or team attire and enjoy a festive afternoon of soups, stews, and chilies prepared by Bastrop’s finest chefs in a spirited “battle of the ladles.” Chef judges will award “bests” in each category, while attendees cast their votes for the coveted “fan favorite.” The event also features a silent auction showcasing artwork from local artists, themed baskets from area businesses, and exciting raffle items. This event supports the vital work we do in the community. Food insecurity continues to affect one in seven Bastrop residents. In 2024, the Food Pantry served over 5,000 neighbors and distributed more than 400,000 pounds of food—a record-breaking year of service. Proceeds from Empty Bowl directly support these vital programs, ensuring that no neighbor goes hungry. Tickets: $30 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and FREE for kids 5 and under. All Adult tickets include a hand-painted bowl. Tickets are available online, at the office, or at the door. We invite businesses and neighbors to sponsor the event or donate items for the silent auction—gift cards, home goods, experiences, artwork, or themed baskets are all welcome.
