The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry is sharing an important update regarding one of Bastrop’s signature community events and asks for your help in spreading the word.Due to anticipated winter weather, the 21st Annual Bastrop Empty Bowl, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 24, has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 7. All tickets purchased for the original date will automatically transfer and remain valid for February 7. No action is required from ticket holders.

The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry invites the community to join us on Saturday, February 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Bastrop Convention Center for our 21st Annual Bastrop Empty Bowl, a SOUPer Bowl–themed celebration of food and fighting hunger. Sponsors will enjoy early admission beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite football jerseys or team attire and enjoy a festive afternoon of soups, stews, and chilies prepared by some of Bastrop’s finest chefs in a spirited “battle of the ladles.” Chef judges will award top honors in each category, while attendees vote for the coveted “Fan Favorite.” The event also features a silent auction with artwork from local artists, themed baskets from area businesses, and exciting raffle items.

Proceeds from Bastrop Empty Bowl support the vital work of the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry. Food insecurity continues to affect one in seven Bastrop County residents. In 2024 alone, the Food Pantry served more than 5,000 neighbors and distributed over 500,000 pounds of food, marking a record-breaking year of service. Funds raised through Empty Bowl directly support these programs and help ensure that no neighbor goes hungry.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $5 for children ages 6–12, and free for children 5 and under. All adult tickets include a hand-painted bowl. Tickets are available online, at the Food Pantry office, or at the door. Businesses and community members are also invited to sponsor the event or donate items for the silent auction, including gift cards, artwork, experiences, home goods, or themed baskets.
