Diana Greene Named Chief Human Resources Officer for Bastrop ISD
Local Graduate and Dedicated Educator to Lead District’s Human Resources Efforts
BASTROP, TX — The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize the appointment of Diana Greene as the new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Bastrop Independent School District. Greene, a Bastrop native and Bastrop High School graduate, brings over 30 years of experience in public education to the role, including 18 years in Human Resources leadership.
In her new position, Greene will lead Bastrop ISD’s efforts to recruit, develop, and retain exceptional staff while guiding daily HR operations that foster employee success and support organizational growth. She begins her new role immediately.

As a Bastrop High School graduate and someone who’s spent the past 30 years working in this district, it’s an honor to step into this role. Bastrop ISD is in a wonderful place, and I’m excited to build on that momentum. I look forward to supporting our staff and ensuring our schools remain exceptional places to work and learn.”
Throughout her career, Greene has demonstrated a deep commitment to Bastrop ISD and the greater Bastrop community. Her leadership and dedication have made her a trusted figure within the district and an advocate for both staff and students.
Greene most recently served as the Director of Human Resources, overseeing districtwide operations related to hiring, staffing, employee relations, and compensation. She has also held positions as the Human Resources Coordinator and Talent Acquisition and Development Administrator.
“We are fortunate to have Diana Greene as our Chief Human Resources Officer,” said Superintendent Barry Edwards. “Her broad experience in HR, combined with deep institutional knowledge of all things BISD, make her an excellent addition to the team. She is service-minded and solutions-oriented, always seeking the best outcome for our students and staff.”
Greene holds a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management, both from Western Governors University. Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending quality time with her two daughters and grandchildren.
