The Texas State Rifle Association is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-minded individual to serve as its Membership and Customer Service Coordinator.

This position serves as an important point of contact for TSRA members and supports membership services, customer service, database management, reporting, and administrative operations.

ABOUT THE TEXAS STATE RIFLE ASSOCIATION

The Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) is a nonprofit membership organization and the official Texas state affiliate of the National Rifle Association of America. For more than a century, TSRA has worked to serve Texas firearm owners, shooting-sports participants, hunters, competitors, instructors, and other supporters of the Second Amendment.

With more than 25,000 members, TSRA's mission includes:

• Upholding Texans' right to keep and bear arms as protected by the Second Amendment;

• Safeguarding Texans' rights to protect themselves, their property, and their families; and

• Supporting shooting-sports programs, including adult and youth competitions, hunter education, firearm-safety education, and other firearm-related programs, events, and activities.


POSITION SUMMARY

TSRA is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-minded individual to serve as its Membership and Customer Service Coordinator.

This position is often the first point of contact between TSRA and its members, prospective members, donors, volunteers, program participants, and members of the public. The successful candidate must provide courteous, accurate, and professional assistance while representing TSRA and its mission.

The Membership and Customer Service Coordinator is responsible for supporting the complete membership-service process—from answering an initial inquiry and processing a new membership to maintaining member records, preparing membership materials, assisting with renewals, and producing reports.

This position requires extensive computer and database use, accurate data entry, careful recordkeeping, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Membership Services

• Respond professionally and promptly to membership inquiries received by telephone, email, mail, website submissions, and in person.

• Assist prospective and current members with new memberships, renewals, upgrades, payments, account updates, membership benefits, and general questions.

• Enter, review, update, and maintain membership records in TSRA's membership database.

• Process membership applications, renewals, payments, changes, and other transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

• Prepare and distribute membership cards, acknowledgment letters, renewal notices, membership packages, and related materials.

• Identify and correct incomplete, duplicate, inconsistent, or inaccurate member records.

• Protect confidential member, donor, payment, and organizational information in accordance with TSRA policies and applicable law.

Customer Service

• Serve as a knowledgeable and welcoming first point of contact for TSRA.

• Provide accurate information regarding TSRA membership, programs, events, activities, and services.

• Research questions, resolve routine concerns, and refer matters to the appropriate staff member or organizational leader when necessary.

• Maintain a professional and respectful manner when assisting individuals with differing needs, opinions, or levels of familiarity with TSRA.

• Document member communications, requests, concerns, and resolutions when appropriate.

Database, Reporting, and Administrative Support

• Navigate and maintain TSRA's customer relationship management and membership-management systems.

• Review, organize, interpret, and manage electronic records, correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, and files.

• Prepare routine membership, renewal, retention, revenue, and activity reports.

• Review reports for accuracy and investigate discrepancies.

• Assist with mailing lists, membership campaigns, event registration, donations, and other administrative projects.

• Maintain organized electronic and physical files in accordance with established record-retention procedures.

• Assist TSRA staff and organizational leadership with special projects, events, mailings, and other operational needs.

• Perform other duties that are reasonably related to the position or necessary to support TSRA's operations and mission.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Prior customer service, office administration, membership services, data entry, records management, or other relevant experience.

• Strong computer skills and the ability to work extensively in electronic databases and software systems.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Google Workspace applications.

• Ability to learn and effectively use membership-management, customer relationship management, payment-processing, and other organizational systems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple assignments within established deadlines.

• Ability to review, analyze, interpret, and manage electronic records, written correspondence, spreadsheets, and reports.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive member, donor, financial, and organizational information.

• Ability to work independently while also cooperating with staff members, directors, officers, volunteers, vendors, and members of the public.

• Dependable attendance and the ability to work the position's established in-office schedule.

• Ability to professionally support, communicate, and represent TSRA's organizational mission, including its support of the Second Amendment and the shooting sports.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

• Experience with MemberLeap or a comparable association-management or membership database.

• Experience working for a membership association, nonprofit organization, advocacy organization, or customer-service office.

• Experience processing membership dues, donations, registrations, payments, or recurring renewals.

• Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience preparing database reports, mailing lists, membership statistics, or data analyses.

• Familiarity with firearm safety, shooting sports, hunting, or Second Amendment organizations.


WORK LOCATION AND SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, in-person position located at the TSRA office in Bastrop, Texas. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

This position is not eligible for regular remote work. Applicants must be able to report reliably and punctually to the Bastrop office according to the established schedule.

Occasional schedule adjustments or additional hours may be required for special projects, meetings, mailings, deadlines, or TSRA events. Any overtime must be authorized in advance and will be handled in accordance with applicable law and TSRA policy.
